Privacy policy

Last updated: 27 October 2026

This page explains what personal data furryitalia.it collects when you visit it, why, how long it is kept and how you can exercise your rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR). Cookies are described in detail in the cookie policy.

Data controller

The data controller is Massimo Cicciò (RedFoxy Darrest), who runs Furry Italia as an independent personal project. For any question about your data, write to redfoxy@redfoxy.it.

What data we collect and why

Browsing data

Like almost every website, the server automatically records some information about each request: IP address, date and time, requested page, response code, referring page, and browser and operating system. We use it to run the site, find and fix errors, and protect it from abuse and attacks.

The legal basis is the controller’s legitimate interest in keeping the site working and secure (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Logs are deleted automatically after about a week, unless they are needed to investigate a computer crime.

Security

The site uses Wordfence, a WordPress firewall installed on our server, which checks incoming requests and blocks suspicious ones, such as repeated login attempts. To do this it processes the IP address and request data, again on the basis of our legitimate interest in site security.

Visit statistics (only with your consent)

If you accept it in the cookie banner, we use Google Analytics 4 to see how many people visit the site, which pages they read and where they come from. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. We have turned off Google Signals and ad personalisation, and the Analytics cookies expire after 13 months. We only look at the data in aggregate and do not use it to identify you.

The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time from the “Manage cookies” link at the bottom of every page. If you decline, Google Analytics is not loaded and the site works normally.

YouTube videos (only with your consent)

Some articles contain videos hosted on YouTube. A video is not loaded until you allow external content, with the “Load video” button or from the cookie banner. When it loads, Google receives your IP address and may store cookies or other data in your browser, under its own privacy policy.

Data you send us

If you contact us by email, Telegram or the other channels on the Contacts page, we use the data you send (name or nickname, contact details and message) only to reply to you, and keep it as long as needed to handle your request. On external platforms such as Telegram, Facebook or X, the platform’s own privacy policy also applies.

Private area

The site has no public registration and comments are turned off. Accounts exist only for the people who run the site: for them WordPress processes username, email and login data, also protected by two-factor authentication.

Who receives the data

Data is processed by the controller. For statistics and videos, data is also received by Google Ireland Limited and, through it, Google LLC in the United States. Google LLC participates in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which the European Commission recognises as an adequate safeguard for data transfers. We do not sell or hand over personal data to anyone else.

Your rights

At any time you can ask to access, correct or delete your data, restrict its processing, object to processing based on legitimate interest, receive your data in a readable format (portability) and withdraw consent you have given, without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing (Arts. 15-22 GDPR). Just write to redfoxy@redfoxy.it.

If you believe your data is being processed unlawfully, you can lodge a complaint with the Italian data protection authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.

Changes

If we change how we process data, we will update this page and the date at the top. If the changes concern cookies that need consent, the banner will ask for your choice again.
